Intensification of a Neutralization Process for Waste Generated from Ion Exchange Regeneration for Expansion of a Chemical Manufacturing Facility

چکیده

Waste generated during regeneration of Ion Exchanger (IX), used for deionizing water, needs to be neutralized before it can discharged back a clean water source. An efficient and novel process is disclosed that minimizes the neutralization volume chemicals required pH adjustment. The currently employed setups in industry are environmentally unsustainable. Various were studied treating waste from IX regeneration. From collected plant data, treatment requirements streams beds analyzed. setup was developed lower operating capital costs by eliminating need some equipment lowering volume. new results considerable savings compared processes benign. improved proposed this work has achieved 63% reduction stream; 62% cost; 23% chemical usage; 55% cost. improvements quite significant, which bound immensely benefit industries require demineralized their operation.
